Terms of Use

Last updated: July 9, 2026

By installing and using can-i-trust you accept these terms. Please read them carefully: they describe what the tool is and, above all, what it is not.

1. What can-i-trust is

can-i-trust is a decision aid. It estimates the trustworthiness of an online store from the visible content of the page, using an AI model. The result is an indicative 0–100 score with criteria, a summary and red flags.

2. No guarantees

The service is provided “as is”. A high score does not guarantee a purchase is safe, and a low score doesn't prove a store is fraudulent. The model works only with what's visible on the page and can be wrong or miss information.

  • Always verify manually when money or sensitive data are involved.
  • The final decision to buy is yours and at your own risk.

3. Acceptable use

By using the extension you agree to:

  • Not use it for unlawful activities or to harm others.
  • Not attempt to overload, reverse-engineer or abuse the service or its proxy.
  • Respect the usage limits per installation.

4. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use can-i-trust, including purchase decisions made based on the score.

5. Availability

We may modify, suspend or discontinue the service at any time. We'll try to keep it available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update implies acceptance of the new version.
